ARINC Direct Xplore is a comprehensive, yet simple and flexible Iridium-based communication solution especially designed for the Business and General Aviation (B&GA) customer. This small, lightweight and compact hardware unit is integrated with a supporting suite of innovative software applications and services developed by ARINC Direct. It is capable of supporting two simultaneous channels of Iridium voice and/or data services.
Xplore users will be fully integrated with ACARS functionally using the ARINC Direct App and the AD Connect VoIP App on their IPad or IPhones. The ARINC Direct App is a valuable tool to help the on-the-go pilots increase their effectiveness. Customers will have up-to-the-minute access to flight plans, weather, flight plan packages and airport charts in an easy to use format.

The XPLORE unit includes two of the latest Iridium L-Band Transceivers, the 9523 LBTs interfacing to a built-in RF Combiner-Splitter, enabling the system to use only one Iridium antenna for dual channel operation, a SiRFstar IV GPS receiver, a dual band (2.4GHz & 5.0GHz) 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi AP module and an integrated 5-band GMS-GPRS/EDGE/UMTS radio Modem.
At its core, the XPLORE unit’s Telephony board is powered by a custom designed, highly efficient 600MHz BlackFin embedded processor, and it is augmented by a 1.8GHz Intel Atom N455 single core processor based AUXiliary services board. It also provides significant variable capacity memory for application hosting via (32 GB) Compact Flash drive and (480 GB) SSDs.
